FAQ

Do you conduct face-to-face sessions?

No, we are currently having all our sessions virtually on Zoom.

Where are your offices located?

We are located in the financial district of New York City; however, we are currently not seeing clients face-to-face.

Do you accept insurance?

No, we do not. We are fee-for-service which means you will be responsible for the full fee at the end of each session. You can pay by credit card or HSA (employee health account). We do not diagnose and keep limited notes on our clients. If you require a receipt for insurance reimbursement, we can provide that, although it will include a diagnosis.

How do I pay for therapy?

We are a fee-for-service practice

You will be responsible for the full fee at the end of each session. You can pay by credit card or HSA (employee health account).

If you have an out-of-network insurance plan, we will supply you with a monthly receipt that will include all the information the insurance companies require (treatment code, license numbers, fee, etc.). You can then request reimbursement for your therapy. Most EPO and PPO plans pay a reimbursement once the deductible has been reached. However, we do not diagnose and keep limited notes on our clients. If you require a receipt for insurance reimbursement, we can provide that, although it will include a diagnosis.

We urge you to contact your insurance company for specifics to your plan.

Do you have a sliding scale fee?

No, however, we offer a discounted membership fee. If you sign up for a membership, your fee will be discounted by 10% monthly.

What is a membership?

Typically, psychotherapy takes between three and four months to reach your goals. In a membership agreement, you commit to paying monthly at the beginning of each month. The monthly fee will be discounted by 10%.

Do you offer a free consultation?

Yes, each new client is screened and offered an opportunity to ask any questions. The therapist offering the consultation may or may not be the therapist you end up with. Our screener will collaborate with you on the best therapist fit for you. The therapist with the best fit will have experience with your problem, will enjoy working with people like you (culture, demographic), and you will be able to afford their fee.

How do I set up an initial appointment?

You can call 646-289-0533, email info@fiditherapy.com, or go here and schedule a time.

How long are your sessions?

Our sessions are 50 minutes each.

What are your hours?

Most therapists have times between 9 AM and 9 PM.

What is your cancellation policy?

Cancellations should be made at least 24 hours (weekday hours) before a scheduled appointment. We charge a full fee for sessions that are not canceled within that timeframe. Your appointment time is reserved for you, and you are responsible for payment for missed sessions. If you cancel within the 24-hour window, you will not be giving anyone else an opportunity for that time.

What kind of therapy do you provide?
All our therapists are experienced in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. It is a specialized form of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy. What this means is that we are behaviorists. We help people behave the way they want to behave and help them remove obstacles to that behavior.
Are you culturally competent?

Yes, each of our therapists has gone through extensive training on different cultures, races, demographics, sexual diversities, kinks, expressions, and neural divergences. We are a diverse group of clinicians who speak Spanish, Mandarin, Cantonese, Creole, and English. We have straight and gay clinicians, and male and female.

What age ranges do you work with?

We work with teenagers and adults who can make appointments for themselves. The age number is less important to us than the ability of a person to be able to make and execute choices for themselves.

What do you do in sessions with clients?

We help you discover what is important to you about: Family relations, marriage/couple/intimate relationship, parenting, friendships/social life, career/employment, education/personal growth and development, recreation/fun/leisure, spirituality, citizenship/environment/community life, and health/well-being. Then we look at what gets in the way of you showing up the way you want to. Finally, we hold you accountable to show up differently in these areas.

Do your clients receive assignments to work on between sessions?

Yes.

Do the therapists have pets?

Most of the therapists have either a dog, a cat, or a goldfish.

What do the therapists love about New York?

Diversity. We are all different and complement each other here at Fidi Therapy, and it’s what we love about New York.

What do the therapists hate about New York?

Again, with diversity, the gap between the haves and have-nots continues to grow.

What should clients know about the therapists?

We love what we do. We show up to work every day excited to help clients be the people they want to be. We have spent a lot of time, energy, and money on education to get to where we are for the sole purpose of helping others.
