Psychotherapist, LMSW, PMH-C

My passion…

For centuries, women have had to demonstrate resilience in the face of discrimination, inequality, stereotypes, and biases. But that courage has come with a heavy price tag, taking a toll on our mental health.

Many of us find ourselves in relationships, careers, and situations that don’t satisfy our spirits. While unwavering determination may have broken down some barriers, we must recognize good mental health as critically important in realizing our dreams.

I’m here to help women overcome societal and mental barriers keeping them from pursuing their dreams and living their best lives.

My approach…

“Eat nutritious meals, sleep well, and prioritize your well-being.” We’ve all heard one variation or another of this statement, but it rarely motivates us to take action.

Most of us have difficulty doing things that benefit us because they feel impossible. My job as a therapist is to help you figure out what is creating the illusion of impossibility.

My approach blends my unique skills with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), giving you an interactive, experiential experience. I’ll give you exercises and assignments that encourage you to prioritize yourself and manage uncomfortable feelings.

My specialties include therapy for women who struggle with boundary-setting, trauma, self-worth, body image, depression, anxiety, perinatal loss, and work-life balance.

Our work together…

Traditionally, therapy is seen as a place where people come to cry and work through their problems. In my sessions, I like to have a nice balance between laughter and tears.

Together, we’ll dig into the areas of your life that hurt the most. Those precious parts of you are valuable, so I only want you to share them when you’re ready and comfortable.

During our initial appointment, I’ll get to know you as a person. I want to know your pet’s name, favorite songs, movies, and places to vacation. Many come to therapy thinking they have to disclose all of their trauma and history in the first session. That’s not true. We’ll get there when the time is right.

I can’t wait to meet you!

My background…

I obtained my Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from the City University of New York (CUNY) and Master of Social Work (MSW) from Columbia University’s School of Social Work.

I worked as a constituent affairs liaison at the New York State Senate for seven years. While there, I assisted residents living in the 21st Senatorial District (Central Brooklyn) with issues like housing, education, employment, and immigration.

Today, I am a licensed psychotherapist with a strong interest in women’s issues and perinatal mental health. I aim to be a trusted resource for those seeking guidance in navigating their mental health and well-being. This is why I also possess perinatal mental health and doula services certifications.

Outside the office…

I am usually traveling with my family and homeschooling my two children.

Once everyone is sound asleep, I indulge in some good old-fashioned 90s sitcoms and African movies.

Of course, I also enjoy taking time for myself to work out and catch up with friends.
